Tower Heist

I made a trip to the movie theater this past weekend to check out Tower Heist. Tower Heist has an all-star cast from Eddie Murphy to Alan Alda.  I found the movie to be very funny and entertaining.  The cameo appearance by the late rapper Heavy D was very enjoyable to see.

Water for Elephants

Another great movie that I watched over the past weekend! 

Robert Patton from Twilight and Reese Witherspoon were wonderful together in this touching drama.  There is life after the Twilight movies for Robert Patton after all! :-)

Faces in the Crowd

I watched this great movie over the weekend!

It has my attention from beginning to end. Milla Jovovich gave an outstanding performance! If you are looking for non-stop excitement..check out Faces in the Crowd!

Halloween Month

We are in the lovely month of October which means scary movies non-stop on cable.  What did you watch this weekend?

I am anxiously awaiting the release of "The Thing" remake and Twilight Breaking Dawn Part I.  I hope these two movies live up to their expectations!

Paranormal Activity 3 looks a little spooky too!

DVD At Home Movie Selection for the Weekend

If you are looking for a couple of movies to rent for the weekend instead of trekking out to the movie theater..I suggest Insidious (a nice suspense thriller) or Jumping the Broom (a good comedy)!

Some Upcoming Movies for Friday, September 23rd

Here are a few interesting movies for this coming weekend:

Abduction starring Taylor Lautner from the Twilight Series. This movie is directed by John Singleton.  It seems like it will be a roller coaster ride of a movie!

Killer Elite starring Robert Deniro, Clive Owen and Jason Statham.  This movie will surely be a treat to watch with this A-list of actors!

Dolphin Tale starring Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman is a great actor as well...sounds like a family friendly movie!

Straw Dogs

I just walked in and ran to the computer to do my review...lol.  Straw Dogs was a bit slow in the beginning with the set-up, but made up for it towards the middle and the end of the movie.  Laz Alonso was a surprise in the movie as well.  Certain scenes will have you on the edge of your seat...make sure you keep your popcorn bag and soda at a safe distance..lol

Straw Dogs

I just discovered that Straw Dogs is a remake. It was originally released in 1971.  Dustin Hoffman played the lead character.  I do not know about you, but I will be sure to check out the original after I go to the movies this weekend and compare. 

I have already added the remake to my list of movies to see. :-)

I can not wait until this coming Friday! I keep seeing the previews for this movie and I hope that it lives up to its expectations.  The scenes seem to show non-stop excitement and action for the movie.  For all of you that love True Blood like I do...you will enjoy seeing Alexander Skarsgard (Eric of True Blood)!

The Lincoln Lawyer

Matthew McConaghey is at it again.  This movie puts me in the mind of Primal Fear.  It has a very nice soundtrack. You will find yourself bopping your head as you are watching the movie. LOL!  Pay close attention to the details so that you do not miss a thing!

The Adjustment Bureau

I would not have seen this in the movies had it not been for Anthony Mackie!  Anthony Mackie stole the show in this flick to me...he held his own standing next to Matt Damon.  I saw this movie about four times already since March! Definitely a must see....and be sure to check out Hurt Locker and Night Catches Us starring Anthony Mackie as well!

Limitless

This movie had excitement from beginning to end.  Bradley Cooper was excellent.  He had you wondering what would be the ultimate outcome...the ending of the movie did not disappoint at all. I actually said to myself..that I should have seen this in the movies instead of on DVD..lol.  If you love Bradley Cooper in the Hangover movies..you will certainly love him in Limitless! Check it out!

Something Borrowed

I watched Something Borrowed on DVD the other day. Kate Hudson is one of the actresses in the movie.  I enjoyed her acting in Bride Wars..so I said this should be a good flick.  The movie had me at the beginning because of the subject surrounding two friends that had known each other since childhood. I was not that thrilled about how the movie ended...so I would say watch this movie at your own risk! LOL!

Contagion

I saw Contagion on Saturday, September 10th.  I was excited to see it because of the All-Star Cast.  I sat with my popcorn and icee in hand..lol.  I was instantly grabbed in by the beginning of the movie.  My excitement dwindled on some parts, but overall I believe that it is a pretty decent movie if you like movies like Outbreak, Cabin Fever and 28 Days Later...go check it out!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2011

I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end.  James Franco gave an excellent performance as the caretaker of Caesar the lead Ape.  Caesar shocked and amazed the audience with his transition towards living among the species known as man. I strongly recommend both past and new fans of the Planet of Apes series to check this movie out.

Di's Movie Night: Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Di's Movie Night: Don't Be Afraid of the Dark: I wanted to see Don't Be Afraid of the Dark since it debuted in theaters last week. I finally got my chance to go and see it today. I was truly disappointed.  It was more of a comedy than a horror/suspense film. If you are looking for a scary flick...do not choose this movie.

Warrior

I went to a private screening of the movie Warrior yesterday courtesy of AMC Stubs.  I truly enjoyed the film. It had my interest throughout the movie.  Nick Nolte, Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton were superb! I strongly recommend you see this film when it debuts in theaters worldwide next Friday, September 9th!
